Student Skills Training Program
and
Capstone Pet Place

Thanks to a Pensacola Bay Area Impact 100 grant and individual donors, Capstone students are learning all aspects of running a retail store (Capstone Pet Place) where they acquire job and interpersonal skills desired by area businesses. Student employees earn at least minimum wage. In addition, we have partnered with local animal rescue groups and shelters to host pet adoption days and provide spay and neuter information to pet owners. In addition, students learn basic education, self-help skills, and socialization.

Adult Day Training Program / Transition Center

Fairfield Location

2600 West Fairfield Drive Pensacola, FL  -  850 432-7477

                         Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4 PM

The High School-to-Work Transition Program at the Transition Employment Center (TEC) provides students ages 14-22 with opportunities to develop appropriate social skills while continuing their educational experience.  Curriculum prepares students for adult life after graduation in which they are able to secure a job or volunteer service, thus becoming as independent as possible. Thanks to a grant from Sunday’s Child for our project called Capstone Pet Barkery, students attending TEC gain practical job experience and interpersonal skills while running a business of baking nutritious pet treats.  Treats are being sold at Capstone Pet Place, farmers’ markets, and area businesses.

The students who attend our adult day training programs at three locations may qualify for transportation to their program from home.  We have a fleet of over 20 vehicles, most of which are wheelchair accessible vans to and from home and their program.
